I am Damir Vazgird, a college graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in History with minors in Political Science and Psychology. Art had always been a hobby of mine. Ever since I was a child I was fascinated with drawing things and over the years I began developing an artistic ability. I haven’t taken many art classes aside from a few basic instructional classes in High School and some during my College experience. Most of my skill developed through experimentation, mimicry, and just plain old experience. Right now it has become a dream of mine to create a Graphic Novel. I will be posting some concept art on this website for you to see and hopefully give me some feedback. As far as the story goes, it is still a work in progress and I will post it in excerpts here as well whenever I get the chance. Aside from this project, I will also be showcasing some of my other artwork that I have created over the years as well as recently. I hope you enjoy my work and leave some feedback if you can, Thank you.

Blending of Different Colors Practice
This piece is titled “Threshold to the Infinite”
I recently purchased some Prismacolor Pens and this piece was the end result of my attempt at coloring with markers for the first time. I chose a surreal piece because there is room for mistakes if you do make them and also because it gave [...] -
Post Apocalyptic City With Vanishing Point
It has been a while since I last posted something. I have been working on quite a few things at a time all this time. I felt that I needed an update for the New Year so I took the time to finish one of my new projects.
I am still working on my graphic novel [...] -
Dark Sky Creeping Over Swordsman
So I went to a secluded area in Utah where I was far away from all modern distractions. The above is the result of my isolation from the rest of society for a few hours. The entire piece took me about 3 days to finish with several hours being dedicated per day. A large portion [...]

Commission McCloud’s Throne
This was a commission that I finished recently. This is not one of my characters, I just drew this according to a description that was provided. I tried to give the throne and background an Egyptian feel because of the setting of the story itself. I am also satisfied with the shading of the character [...]
-
Embodiment of Paranoia and Lust
Alright, here is the third concept of one of my main antagonists/anti-heroes in the story for my graphic-novel project. As you can probably tell this concept is vastly different from the previous two which emphasized the character’s metal looking armor. In this one I decided to approach the character with a more biological look as [...]
-
Sitting Pose With Sword Practice
This piece is me practicing different poses. This one was done with no references and was just a test for me to try to create an anatomically correct sitting pose. I used one of my main protagonists for the character and I like the way this one came out. From my point of view, my [...]

Ninja Group Action Stance With Background
Its been a while but I guess it was worth the wait. I’ve decided to use the Bristol Paper that I purchased recently. All I can say is it is the best paper I have ever used and I highly recommend it. It is very sturdy, smooth, and you can use almost any medium on [...]
-
Spider Ninja Concept
Hey all! This is another concept for a character for my graphic novel. With this I practiced some dynamic shading in order to portray that black metallic feel, I think it came out alright. I’m pretty sure that I will be changing the way this character looks in the future. I think he came out [...]
-
Holding Sniper Rifle With Waving Flag Background
Hello everyone! It’s been quite a while since I last posted and I have a good explanation. I know you probably thought I was slacking but I wasn’t, in fact I was very busy. I have recently changed residency and am now residing in Las Vegas. The move from New York was tough and the [...]
-
Shading Leather Practice
This is a recent character I created for my graphic novel project. I did not use any references for the character, I tried to practice anatomy without any help. I think I’m getting progressively better at anatomy, however, the face needs more work though. I also had a chance to practice some more shading techniques [...]
-
Extreme Camera Angle Example
Alrighty, this is an example of an extreme camera angle. This is something I felt I needed to practice a lot in order to make my upcoming graphic novel look more appealing to a reader. This shot was referenced from Bleach, again. Yea I know I seem to be borrowing a lot of examples from [...]
-
Sword Fight Action Scene
I did this in order to practice action scenes for my graphic novel. As you can probably tell the line art is a bit improved when compared to my previous work. By the way this scene was references from Bleach. In order to practice various poses and action scenes I find it very important to [...]
-
Original Character Lukka’mar Concept
This is just the second concept for this particular character. He is not really an antagonist in my graphic novel but more like an anti-hero really. I got him pretty close to how I want him to look. Only thing that concerns me is the armor on the legs, I really want to change the [...]
-
Original Character Zul’roth Concept
This is the second concept of this character. I am pretty satisfied with the way this came out, very close to the final concept. I will post some more of this character, of course in different poses. This way you can see him develop as I draw more of him. Right now however I have [...]
-
Original Character Gerrak’kul Concept
This is the second concept of this character. He is supposed to be one of the main antagonists but he makes his appearance much later into the story. He is supposed to be strongest of the four that belong to this group. This will all be explained further later once I finish writing the story [...]
-
Original Character Sakk’ron Concept
This is actually the second concept for this character. If you notice, he resembles the character in the “Chain of Fate” drawing. That is because I have been developing this character to fit into the storyline. I am still not completely satisfied with this concept either. I think the shoulders on his armor need a [...]
-
Original Character Imperial Warrior Portrait
So, this is the same antagonist concept just without the helmet. No name given yet but working on it. This one I’m more happy with and the shading wasn’t too bad. The pose was referenced from the manga called Bleach. It is a pretty good manga, the action scenes are top-notch. I’m sure some of [...]
-
Battle Ready and Approaching Example
This is the first concept I came up with for one of the main antagonists for the story. I don’t want to bore you with any details on this character now. Once I set up the storyline and all the background info on the characters I will post that on here for you to check [...]
-
Original Character Bounty Hunter Swordswoman
This is the first concept for one of the protagonists for my graphic novel project. The name is still pending but I am probably going to go with Anna. This concept is not finalized and I feel I have much to improve on. For instance, the sword would probably look differently. The suit she has [...]
-
Original Character Sniper
This is another concept for a protagonist for my graphic novel. As you can see I haven’t come up with a name for him yet. I planned him to be one of the main character for the story. Some things to note: I realize the anatomy is a bit sketchy here pertaining to his legs. [...]
-
Armored Nova Taking Off Mask
This drawing is for my graphic novel project. This is the first concept for the protagonist, Nova, when in armor. Done entirely with a Bic pen, this was one of my first attempts with inking. The reason this was done with a Bic pen was because I drew this on basic printer paper without realizing [...]
-
Fan Art Triple-Threat Paladins
This is another World of Warcraft fan-art I did a while back. The guy on the left was my character at the time and the other two were friends I used to play with. We were all Paladins in the same guild and we considered ourselves to be the best on the Dunemaul server. In [...]
-
Fan Art Equilibrium Guild
This one is just some fanart I did for a World of Warcraft guild I used to roll with. World of Warcraft was a fun game but it just didn’t last and got old fast. Still, I’m not going to lie and say I didn’t have fun with it. This is Guild Equilibrium from the [...]
-
Fan Art Algeroth the Devestator
This was the beginning of my work with ink. As you can tell I wasn’t really safe with using inks for shading. Using hatching and crosshatching was something entirely new to me but I was really interested in learning the technique. Right now my inking has gotten a lot better but I still have some [...]
-
Unique Example of Depth Perception
There is a bit of a story to this drawing. This was a work I did for one of my art classes in college. Well, it wasn’t really your typical art class. The class was called Creativity Perception and The Visual Arts, it was a mix of art and psychology so you basically got credit [...]
-
War Torn III
Back when I was playing a bunch of videogames I became influenced to draw massive, futuristic battlefields. I sketched out three different takes of battles which I later named War Torn. These were done back in 2004 and I just recently found them lying around unfinished. I always had this ridiculous tendency to abandon my [...]

Garden of Eden
This is one of my earlier works in surrealism. This was done for a class project when I took a drawing class in college. I haven’t done many surrealism over the years since my focus was mainly on my Graphic Novel project. I do love surreal art and do want to do more of it. [...]
