Damir Vazgird

A full-stack JavaScript developer based in NYC with a mission to create modern reactive software that’s scalable on any device and platform.

My 'short' Story

If you'd like to hear the long version, you're gonna have to buy me a beer. Now then, here's the short version, for what it's worth:

Coming from a design background, I saw the potential to expand into web development. Taking the opportunity to learn front-end development I was able to bring my skills to the next level. Having the freedom to transform your own static mockups into code made for a smoother workflow. But I wasn't going to stop there.

With the advent of Node came another opportunity - learning backend development. I had become familiar with JavaScript through my front-end experience over the years so it felt good to cross into this threshold. I began with learning all about databases and how to model data. In time I started writing API methods, controllers, and security protocols for my servers.

The pieces began to fit into place and with time I was able to build web apps from across every layer using JavaScript. Yet, I still feel there's so much more left for me to learn, and I'm excited with the prospect of gaining this new knowledge. I can truly say I found a healthy passion for problem solving by getting into web development. Now I want to go as far as Moore's law will take me, and beyond, because true progress is infinite.

"In all of my universe I have seen no law of nature, unchanging and inexorable. This universe presents only changing relationships which are sometimes seen as laws by short-lived awareness. These fleshy sensoria which we call self are ephemera withering in the blaze of infinity, fleetingly aware of temporary conditions which confine our activities and change as our activities change. If you must label the absolute, use its proper name: Temporary."Frank HerbertGod Emperor of Dune

My Inspiration

I draw inspiration from many faucets. I probably heard or read that statement somewhere, but in the statement lies a wisdom that we all can relate to. We all are inspired in one way or another by the ideas of other people. This is why the sharing of knowledge is so important because it helps us to achieve common ground with those around us. With that said, here's where I get my inspiration:
